Recently, Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, discussed stepping up joint efforts to improve the security and safety of roads and achieve technical integration of traffic safety in Dubai.

The meeting, which was held at the Dubai Police Officers Club, covered important initiatives and projects of shared concern, such as joint safety awareness campaigns on road traffic safety aimed at the delivery service sector, which aim to reduce infractions and accidents by stepping up traffic enforcement and highlighting the significance of adherence to traffic laws and regulations.

Lt. Gen. Al Marri opened the meeting by praising the strategic alliance between Dubai Police and the Roads and Transport Authority for raising safety and security, expanding quality of life in Dubai, and fostering peace and happiness among locals, residents, and visitors to the UAE.

According to Dubai Plan 2030 and the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, Al Tayer emphasised the RTA’s eagerness to step up efforts to improve sustainability in the sector of roads and transportation in order to attain worldwide leadership in sustainable mobility.

Lt. Gen. Al Marri applauded the joint work teams’ efforts, noting that they had succeeded in increasing awareness of the need to improve traffic behaviour and develop a culture of traffic safety among community members.

Officials evaluated the results of the combined seizure effort, which resulted in the seizure of 2,550 bicycles in the first nine months of this year and 2,324 in 2021.

The “Oyoon” CCTV Surveillance Project, which strives to provide the greatest levels of safety and security at the crucial facilities, was also explained to the authorities.
