The UAE government on Sunday announced the lifting of all restrictions it had put in place to keep the nation and its citizens safe during the pandemic, nearly two and a half years after the Covid-19 pandemic first emerged. Masks are not required in any open or closed facilities, including mosques and places of worship, according to health officials.

The official noted that after carefully examining the epidemiological situation in the nation and keeping track of occupancy rates in hospitals and intensive care for Covid-19 infected cases, which have steadily dropped below 300 now, the second phase of relaxations have been approved.

Except for health facilities and centres for people of determination, where it will be required, masks may be worn in all open and enclosed facilities, including mosques and places of worship.

The five-day isolation period for positive cases will continue to be in effect, according to the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), and Covid-19 PCR testing and medical facilities will continue to be available.

The official declared a set of measures for the health industry and stated that “The National Active Monitoring Programme for Influenza and Acute Respiratory Diseases” will include Covid-19.

The UAE government has been working tirelessly over the past few months to stop the Covid-19 pandemic, which has raised awareness of how to combat epidemics and diseases. We declare that the health sector will keep an eye on the situation and conduct active monitoring across the nation.

The wearing of masks was no longer required in most public areas on September 28 as part of the first phase of the Covid-19 mandates’ relaxation, with the exception of hospitals and medical facilities, houses of worship, public transportation, and food service providers.
