All you can do to verify the validity of your residence visa status is through your passport number and expiry date. So, you’re fine even though you just have a photocopy of your passport or a scanned document on your tablet.
This service is provided by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship through its website. Residents should enter their passport details to see if their visa is still valid and to see if the issued visa is genuine. Residents may also use this official government website to verify the authenticity of their visa.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to tracking the authenticity of your visa using your passport:
Step 1: Go to https://smartservices.ica.gov.ae/echannels/web/client/default.html#/fileValidity.
Step 2: Click the ‘Passport Information’ button.
Step 3: Choose either ‘residency’ or ‘visa.’
Step 4: Enter your passport number and expiration date.
Step 5: Choose a country from the dropdown menu on the right. On the left, a corresponding number will appear.
Step 6: Check the verification box and press the search button. The website will now view your visa information as well as the date of expiry.
