Following a long period of evaluation, consultation, and development, the UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has announced the introduction of the new “EmaraTax” integrated platform later this year.
EmaraTax will dramatically improve taxpayers’ ability to access FTA services, pay their taxes, and collect refunds. The new platform also considerably improves the FTA’s ability to manage taxes in the UAE, allowing for better, faster decision-making and earlier involvement with taxpayers who require assistance.
EmaraTax provides a number of substantial changes, including online access to a greater variety of FTA services than ever before, a simpler and streamlined user experience, and extensive self-help and service request options. Individual taxpayers, tax agents, legal representatives, foreign embassies and diplomats, customs authorities, and verification agencies will all profit from the new advances brought to life by EmaraTax.
The new platform is a modern tax administration ecosystem that integrates with other influential government entities such as the UAE Central Bank and national technology-based programmes such as UAE PASS to simplify the best use of common data and, as a result, a variety of user processes ranging from logging in to compiling tax returns. EmaraTax is also mobile-ready, and the App will be available immediately after the new platform goes online in November 2022.
The new FTA system aligns with the UAE Digital Government Strategy 2025 and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to leverage emerging technologies and build a solid digital infrastructure that serves the UAE’s people and business community.
