The UAE and Bahrain have had a long-standing relationship that is supported by high hopes and bright chances, according to Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The top diplomat for the UAE made the remarks while co-chairing the 10th meeting of the UAE-Bahrain Joint Higher Committee, which was held today, with Bahrain’s foreign minister, Dr. Abdulatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
Sheikh Abdullah spoke before the committee and shared his joy at being in Bahrain and seeing His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He praised the Bahraini King’s directions and his resolve to further strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.
“While raising our non-oil trade volume in 2021 to $6.5 bn is certainly an achievement, it does not reflect our true potential, as we believe there are still myriad opportunities [to grow it further]. The aspirations of our leadership, headed by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, inspire us to take extra care and make further efforts to achieve such ambitions,” stated the UAE’s senior diplomat.
He emphasized the importance their governments and private sectors place on fostering cooperation, which motivates their desire to offer them better chances, incentives, and communication channels, as well as to support their joint ventures and overcome obstacles they face.
He also emphasized the significance of stepping up collaboration between the public and private sectors as well as between Bahrain’s and the UAE’s private sectors.
The foreign minister of the UAE expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Dr. Al Zayani’s kind hospitality and the particular attention he paid to this visit and their Joint Higher Committee.
