Saint Petersburg- President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates spoke with President Vladimir Putin of Russia about the ongoing war in Ukraine. Moreover, they emphasized on importance of maintaining a line of communication between Russia and Ukraine.
Sheikh Mohamed received a thorough briefing from President Putin on the circumstances at the Zaporozhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and Russia’s measures to uphold nuclear security. Sheikh Mohamed stated that the UAE is still keeping an eye on the situation at the plant.
The two presidents highlighted the continuous rapid expansion seen across the UAE-Russia relations and their satisfaction with such growth.
Sheikh Mohamed briefed the Russain President on the position of the Ukrainian side in a number of matters. Putin emphasized that Russia is eager for the UAE’s mediation efforts to continue. According to WAM, the UAE’s foreign ministry stated at the time that the visit was intended to assist in finding “effective political solutions” to the Ukrainian problem.
